Which computer whould you get?
Question by Jordan: Which computer whould you get?
Im in the market for a low cost computer that does everyday things and plays World of Warcraft well.
I know WoW isint one of the most graphical demanding games but I would like it to run at a smooth 60 frames if possible with high settings.
The two computers that are in my price range are.
1.http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=12347221
( Seems to be a nice computer but no monitor and terrrible graphics with a power supply upgrade needed).
2.http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Acer+-+Aspire+Laptop+with+AMD+Athlon%26%23153%3B+Single-Core+Processor/9555769.p?id=1218127632130&skuId=9555769
Number 2 seems kind of cheap but the reviews seem good and the only thing I see lacking is the cpu and graphics card. I never owned a laptop before but this ones a little cheaper and in the customer reviews the first one was from a guy who said that the best thing about it is its upgradeable and can out perform laptops approaching 00 when upgraded.
I need help choosing a pc. I dont want to run any other game other than WoW, and as long as the pc runs smoothly when browsing the web, listening to music and watching youtube videos, then im fine.
If you can think of an alternative choice for under 400 bucks or maybe a little more please let me know.
It dosent have to have a nice graphics card as long as I can upgrade the graphics.

The Acer Aspire notebook you listed would not be a good choice. First of all, you would want one with a Dual Core processor for WOW. Plus it has a slow FSB speed which would also not be good for WOW.
I have a suggested laptop from Newegg.

What do you think? Answer below!
Definitely the desktop, although eMachines isn’t the greatest brand-name out there.
Here’s are a couple of other options:

The rave customer review from the “guru” is a bit misleading. While being able to accept a CPU upgrade is certainly a nice feature, you’ve got to factor in that cost. Morever, the graphics are NOT upgradeable and that’s more important to gaming performance than your CPU anyway.
True, a Mobility Radeon 3200 is slightly better than an Intel GMA 4500, but compared to even a $50 desktop video card (like a Radeon 4650) they both suck. Here are the mobile/laptop video card rankings:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html
The Radeon HD 3200 ranks #151 overall and the GMA 4500 ranks #156. Not where you want to be without the ability to upgrade.
Add one of these graphics cards to any of the desktop systems linked above, and you’ll obliterate the performance of that laptop, even after upgrading it.

By the way, I strongly recommend spending the extra $15 for a Radeon 4670, it doubles your frame rates over the 4650. You’d be able to run WoW maxed
both of those are not a good choice especially the Acer. It only have 1 CORE!!!

this computer on tigerdirect.com have
1. AMD Phenom X3 8450 2.1GHz ( triple Core)
2. ATI HD 3200 which is better than X4500
3. 8 GB of RAM!!!!
this might not maxed out WoW but it can play on med-high no problem.
